Overview
Khajna is VAT management software approved by the NBR — Bangladesh's National Board of Revenue. That approval is the defining constraint of the project: output has to match the formats and rules the tax authority mandates, because the consumer of this software's output is a regulator, not a user who can work around a quirk.
I built the VAT calculation modules and the automated tax engine with its error validation, the Challan entry system for tax document management, the NBR-compliant report generation, and the filing integration.
What I built
- Built comprehensive VAT calculation modules with automated tax computations.
- Implemented a Challan Entry system for tax document management.
- Created VAT report generation tools with NBR-compliant formatting.
- Integrated tax filing functionalities compliant with NBR standards.
- Built an automated tax calculation engine with error validation.
- Developed pre-formatted Challan and summary reports for tax authorities.
In depth
- 01
Automated VAT computation
VAT calculation modules that compute tax automatically, with an engine built around error validation — in tax software, catching a wrong figure before it is filed is the product.
- 02
Challan entry
A Challan Entry system for managing tax documents, covering the record of payment that Bangladesh's VAT process is organised around.
- 03
NBR-compliant reporting
Report generation with NBR-compliant formatting, plus pre-formatted Challan and summary reports built for submission to the tax authority rather than for internal reading.
- 04
Tax filing
Filing functionality integrated to NBR standards, so the software completes the process rather than stopping at producing a document someone else has to submit.
